The Australasian Orthodontic Journal (AOJ)

The Australasian Orthodontic Journal (AOJ) is a global, scientific, open access periodical published by De Gruyter in accordance with independent, unbiased, and double-blinded peer-review principles. The journal is the official publication of the Australian Society of Orthodontists (ASO)

Aims

The AOJ publishes studies on orthodontic academic, clinical and research topics including craniofacial development and growth, case reports, systematic reviews and editorial comments that are prepared in accordance with ethical guidelines. The Journal’s publication language is English, and the Editorial Board encourages submissions from international authors.

The Journal’s target audience includes academicians, specialists, students, and general practitioners working in the fields of orthodontics, dentistry, medicine and related areas.

The editorial and publication processes of the Journal are governed by the guidelines of the:

• International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), 
• World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), 
• Council of Science Editors (CSE), 
• Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), 
• European Association of Science Editors (EASE)and
• National Information Standards Organization (NISO).

The Journal conforms with the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.

The AOJ does not apply fees for manuscript submission and publication, nor are fees requested from authors at any point during the evaluation, review and assessment process. All expenses of the Journal are covered by the ASO.

All manuscripts must be submitted through the Editorial Manager as a registered author. The Journal guidelines, technical information, and the required forms are available on the Journal’s web page.

The statements or opinions expressed in the manuscripts published in the journal reflect the views of the author(s) and not those of the Australian Society of Orthodontists, Editor, Editorial Board, and/or Publisher.
